The real reason we go on barn tours is to see countryside like this! Back at TALA for another all-night ghost hunt. So excited! But I feel as if the building has been waiting for us! Going wild and wooly at the 2022 #mdsheepandwool festival! This festival should be on your bucket list ifyou are into sheep-related fiber arts! What do The Blair Witch Project and the Frederick County Landmarks Barnstorming Tour have in common? The town of Burkittsville! Last year the tour took us to several of the beautiful old barns around this quaint town! We were looking for a pretty hike near the Hudson River. The promise of a lighthouse was an added draw — so we headed to Esopus Meadows Park for a relatively easy hike that offered a few lookout points onto the Hudson. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get out in nature for a bit for a relaxing walk in the woods. There’s a Revolutionary War general that we don’t often talk about: Gen. Adam Stephen. Although he served nobly as George Washington’s right-hand man in both the French & Indian War and for at least part of the Revolutionary War, he was held responsible for the botched battle plan and execution of the Battle of Germantown. The Erie Canal offers a plethora of daytrip destinations — offering numerous tourist attractions and daytrip opportunities all along its 363-mile length through upstate New York. We visited Holly River State Park in the middle of winter because we were hoping to visit frozen waterfalls. Corning is a city in the New York Finger Lakes region that offers several worthwhile attractions — certainly enough to spend a whole day exploring!
